The Burdekin Cane Farm in Ayr is a really unique camp to stay. Greg and Lyn have provided a fantastic property that not only will you love but they will show you all about the Burdekin Cane.

Enjoying the farm as much as we could

What is special about this property?

Fantastic owners

Greg and Lyn are pretty special people and as soon as you get to meet them you’ll understand straight away. They have such a strong passion for the local area and are more than happy to tell you all about it. Greg has so much local knowledge that I’m sure if you ask really nice he will share some great fishing spots with you too.

Greg with our two daughters that absolutely loved him

Burdekin burn

The burning of the Burdekin sugar cane is a must see. Seeing how quickly they can burn a section of the sugar cane is fantastic. The kids loved seeing the Burdekin snow fall on them. If you are in the right season you may even get to see the whole process from sugar cane, burn to harvested. Our daughters loved seeing all the machinery the farm has to offer.

Don’t miss seeing the burning of the sugar cane.

Budget Friendly

The property owners are experienced travellers and have made a fantastic camp including power and water for a very low cost. It’s the cheapest we have found at $12.50 (please see Wikicamps for the latest comments and prices).

The Burdekin Cane Farm is more than just a place to camp, it is a place you will never forget and it will teach you so much more about where your food comes from.

Our children enjoyed learning all about the sugar cane process
